Short film: “A Lack of Content”

By Ben Del Vasto

Filmed over two nights, A Lack of Content is my first short film. Drawing inspiration from the French and Italian New Wave, the film focuses on a young couple who share a history, but because of their inability to communicate and truly understand each other, their relationship reaches a point of decision. The parking lot symbolizes the whole routine of their moments together – empty and generic. The car is the literal and metaphorical vehicle in which they realize their lack of satisfaction for one another and life. The film features music from local artists and friends, except for “Lisa Sawyer” by the talented Leon Bridges.
