We are currently accepting original content in a multitude of mediums: articles, essays, short-fiction, poetry, photography, illustrations, videos, comics, and everything else. We’re looking for fresh, creative, and diverse content with an intersectional feminist perspective. An opportunity to get creative is one you should always take, so please use this chance to dazzle the world with what only you can make!
Before you pitch something, please make sure we haven’t already published something similar to your idea. Check out our mandate to see if you’re pitching to the right place.
If you have a pitch, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, pitch topic, and type of submission (art, writing, or feature.) Give us a brief outline of your idea and why it ought to belong in Lucky Penny Mag. Make sure the subject line is “[pitch type] PITCH: [title/keywords]” (for example: ESSAY PITCH: my community’s reaction to my engagement with a white man)
First drafts are accepted, but not necessary.
We will email you back shortly about whether your submission has been accepted, and when it will be due by. If you don’t hear back after a week, feel free to follow up.
Once your pitch has been accepted, you’ll be paired up with one of the staff members who will help you work through your ideas to create a fantastic final piece.
Lucky Penny Mag is volunteer-run and unfortunately cannot yet pay its contributors. However, we’re happy to promote your portfolio/social media/online stores with your published work.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please let us know at email@example.com (we love emails).
